February 2009 Digital TV Conversion
Will I Need a Converter Box ????
If you are receiving your television signals from a local San Bernardino County
TV translator site, Channel 14 through 62, you WILL NOT need a converter box, as
these sites are currently exempt from the digital conversion as they are low power (100
watts or less).
If you receive your television signals on Channel
2 through 13 with a roof antenna pointed toward Mount Wilson or Los Angeles, YOU
WILL need a digital-to-analog converter box if your television was purchased prior
to January 2007. A television purchased after January 2007 has the digital
processor built into the set.
San Bernardino County Translator Sites include Morongo Basin, Twentynine Palms (Pinto Mountain), Barstow (Elephant Mountain), Lucerne Valley, Newberry Springs and the surrounding areas.
